Good to see you getting enough starch in your diet. (Glad I'm not the only one.)

I have a 10 second rule for food dropped on the ground. How many seconds do you allow from the time your cat nibbles your food before you decide it is unfit to eat? Knowing what a complete toilette my dog accomplishes using only her tongue I generally don't want food that she's nibbled.

With my cats their desire for my food is usually expressed through the act of crawling all over me and TRYING to nibble. Rudy climbed all over me and tried to knock the plate away from me and then finally got to lick the butter and crumbs off the plate after I finished eating.

I could leave a plate of bacon in the middle of a room and leave Tanner for 15 minutes and come back to a full plate. But if I tell him he can have it, or put it on the floor, that bitch is GONE!!!!!

My brother had a dog that you literally could flop a big piece of steak down on his forehead and he wouldn't move a muscle. He'd sit there drooling but wouldn't eat it. As soon as you said OK..... Chomp! He'd flip it up and chomp it in midair, it'd never hit he ground.

Yeah, Tanner does that trick with Milkbones. Haven't tried it with steak. Too cheap.

On the other hand, my old Elkhound (who passed some time ago), would gleefully snatch a burger right out of my hand if I wasn't paying attention. That dog was a food whore.

Bummed. We're thinking about partitioning our lot and building a new house in our backyard, so to speak (we live on the corner and have a huge backyard). Building wouldn't be expensive and we can afford hooking up to the sewer etc. But the city wants us to widen the existing 15 foot wide road to 22 feet. Ouch. And given the trees we'd have to do both sides of the road which our neighbors might not like. No legal problem with that, but we like them, and they'd still be our neighbors.
