That's an interesting way to describe a drunken threesome.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Shopping for coffee makers. Checked my bank balance, and I'm flat broke, but I also found they sell just the part on my current coffee maker that is malfunctioning, so I may just do that. On the other hand, the Mr. Coffee makers are inexpensive, and likely an improvement on my 20 year old Braun. (But they're not as secksie. Considering a purple Bella for just that reason.)
Just rejoined IRC and all our bawts except the infobot are MIA. Not that I care, but it means my privileges would need to be manually escalated by another moderator. Screw it.
I cleaned the part that was malfunctioning on my coffee maker and it seems much improved now. Of course it will have to await the acid test of actual use. I've had to do this before, usually once every few years, but in the past I've just spritzed it liberally with cleaner and subjected it to a stream of harsh water. This time I took pains to scrub the individual joints and mating surfaces. On the plus side, that may mean I don't need a new coffee maker. On the other hand, my tooth brush will likely taste like espresso for a few days. I suppose that in itself is not a bad thing.
(ETA: Nope. Repair fail. I guess it's time for new. Function, aesthetics or price. Which to emphasize....)

I love my Keurig. Their customer service rivals that of Apple. If it breaks, you just send it in, and they'll send you a new one. All they ask is that you first try fixing it using a trouble-shooting video they provide for you. The cups are a bit pricey though.

Texas: Cost of ownership is too high, and the functionality is somewhat redundant as I have a quality, 5-liter electric hot water pot and loads of instant.
It would be a nice luxury, but it would have to be in addition to a drip coffee maker.
(Speaking of which, I bought a large bag of ginger tea last night. That would hit the spot right now.)

It does get costly. But, there is somethng convenient about pushing a button and making a single cup of coffee. The resevoir holds quite a bit, and keeps the water pre-heated. No filters, no loose grounds, and only gotta fill the tank every 3 days or so. I do occasionally miss the practicality of a drip machine.

lamerz. I think the auth list on the infobot is desynched from the other bots, so others can auto-op, but I can't. and it's not accepting my manual auth add. maybe the syntax is off.

I have no idea what you just said but it's turning me on.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
