I tried a kangaroo burger.

Surprisingly salty, in my experience. Though that may just have been the way it was prepared.

Finished my portion of the taxes. More than 300 items put on a spread sheet. Now my wife, the brains of the outfit, can put it together, see the accountant and, when the time comes, do battle with the IRS. Being an artist she/we get audited all the time.
We have a place here that's half-fancy butcher's shop, half-expensive restaurant. They apparently imported some kangaroo meat. It was gamey, but very good - either because it is salty like Esq said, or because the way they seasoned it was just right. I sat between two guys I didn't know (I met them that night because they were part of the birthday party I was attending) and both of them snagged pieces amicably and regretted getting their lamb burgers instead.

On break at work and thinking of creating a little more about me thread when I get home.

I just hit a kangaroo in my car the other night.
That wasn't much fun. Anyway, kangaroo meat is lean like the kangaroo. Not much fat or flavour. Quite tough. It's best either marinated, minced and used to bulken up beef, lamb or pork mince, tenderised and double battered for stir fry or slow cooked in a curry, in my opinion. I can buy it quite cheap at the local supermarket here. Also, the tail is good in soup, just like ox tail. :-) |
