CM, did you ever get that AutoCAD printing issue sorted? I'm curious what the fix was.

Haven't figured it out yet. We have a work around through the "DWG to PDF" printer, but paper size and printable space is weird; I was playing around with them and the 11x17 selection wasn't actually giving me an 11x17 paper size in the layout tab. Also, the "No Bleed" paper size has huge margins so the printable area loses about an inch in one direction and an inch and a half the other, which is unacceptable for us.

The best option would be the figure out how to create the custom user-defined paper size but we still can't figure that out either.

Still need to figure it out, but am taking a break from it.

UPDATE:

BWAHAHAHAHA!!! I figured out the user-defined paper size for a systems printer!!!!!

The PDF exporter we are now using doesn't support creating user-defined paper sizes but our old Adobe PDF printer does! I went into the Printer Preferences for the Adobe PDF printer and created the custom size and (because they're both PDF-creators I guess) the new custom page size was also added to the other printer!!!

Back from a neighborhood meeting where they talked about public funds for those running for office. "Clean" running or something like that. Video presented about this concept in Arizona. Pretty interesting. Not sure how I feel.

Well, the last one was using fields to auto fill multiple attributes in the same block (wiring diagrams with lots of redundant wire naming) so that all the attributes associated with a particular wire run would be the same. Makes back-checking a wiring diagram sooooo much easier when you only have to verify the number in one place. Anyway, an AutoDesk staff member told me it was flat out impossible. Hah! Turned out to actually be quite simple.

Let's recount a small portion of my day just to show you what my work day is like:

-Boss comes to me and says I haven't entered in transportation bills for last month. Could I please look into this?
-I realize we haven't received transportation bills.
-I remember our 3rd party transportation logistics company changed us from physical billing to a web-portal where we could download invoices
-I go to the portal. Nothing. And they spelled my last name incorrectly.
-I call the company. She says, "Oh, it's because I've been e-mailing them to you. They're not on the web portal."
-Uh....wut? I haven't been receiving any e-mails. She goes and looks into it.
-"Oh, you're not on the distribution list. Is your e-mail [rattles off wrong e-mail anyway]?"
-I correct her. I'm still waiting for the invoices. Meanwhile, I find out that my boss and another lady in the department that uses the logistics company HAVE been receiving the invoices and not passing them on to me.

So I just got reprimanded for not entering invoices that I wasn't receiving anyway that my own boss had access to and didn't give me.

I need a new fucking job.
