You've heard of the term coined in honor of this phenomenon called "sexposition" right? Every time they had to convey information to the viewer they would do it in a sex scene. If you look at it like that (or at least if I did) then I would end up overlooking the sex part and just pay attention to the information being given to me. And in the case of at least one character I felt like the sex scenes were instrumental in setting up the "character" of the character, if you will, so I don't think it's all simply gratuitous, though certainly some of it is.
With that said, though, that sort of diminishes as the show goes on - it does get a little tiresome in the first season.

Yeah, I was thinking that last night watching the trials. I don't care about the people who don't make it, I just want to see the top 20.
Did Paul Abdul replace Mary? Not sure how I feel about that. On the one hand Mary was really irritating. On the other hand, Paul Abdul is not exactly an improvement to me...

Paula is meh to me. Mary seriously irritated me in years past, but somehow became oddly endearing. She was removed pretty recently.

Alligators are no laughing matter. I grew up in Florida, where you respect the alligator, or you DIE!!!!

Flush it down the dunny.
It won't last long once it gets into the runout from the nuclear power plant.

Nobody touch the alligator. I've ordered my boots ...
They'll go nicely with my angel feathered jacket and my dragon skin pants....
