"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.
Trying to wake up with some Metric.

Catching up. Finally got some internet, albeit a bit sluggish and probably not for long so I'm trying to make the most of it. I'm reading the diary of a junkie. Solid stuff. Haven't been this sucked in by a book in some time.
My irrational fear of not having internet connection isn't going away. It's scary when I think I can't reach anybody. I'll try and get some more stable option, but I'd rather just go home. Hug meeee ![]()

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie
I bought a book yesterday.
Here are some of the secret truths it claims to answer. What to actually expect after death. How to raise a well rounded child without ever using a punishment bag. How to party and become rich. (Not at the same time.) When to serve duck confit. How to maintain a communist empire. (Hard.) How to make a baby cry. (Easy.) How to change your race. I think it's going to be a lot fun. :-) |
