Feeling annoyed by theists. Who pretend to be genuine, when they're anything but.

I just visited my brother and when I first walked in, he had the cat on his lap, asleep.
Very cute, so I took a picture and sent it to Mum.
How was I to know that there was a bong on the table beside him?
He's not impressed with me at the moment. :-)

He's planning on cropping the photo when he sees her next and hoping she didn't see it in the first place.
After all, it does look exactly like a tomato sauce bottle.

I'd be okay if theists were interested in debate, but it's those who feign friendship or want to be everyone's pal, that I wonder about...because I see it as a method to 'recruit' people to their faith, by pretending to assimilate and be everyone's pal.
I always give the benefit of the doubt to people, but I cringe when I realize that I'm being used.

So has GC been doing others like he tried to do with me? He took advantage of my surgery to pal around with in the PMs, telling me how he wanted to know me better and get closer to me and whatnot. He was quite subtle, acknowledging that there would be times we would disagree as long as we could do so respectfully. I said okay, then the first time I disagreed with him about something, he tells me he resents it and doesn’t want to talk to me anymore.

Maybe he thought being my friend would neutralize me. It didn’t take him long to see that wasn’t going to happen.

No GC, but someone else here has tried the 'friend' route, and I saw through it. I'm grateful for the ignore feature. This isn't to say that only theists can use people, lol There are good and bad in theist and atheist camps. But, don't use me to gain an ally here.

Well you know, there’s a saying: keep your friends close and your enemies closer. So everybody who tries to get close to us is not necessarily doing so because they think of us as a friend.

No matter how carefully they play their cards, sooner or later, they have to play their Ace. Knowamsane?
