What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Nowadays movies and shows seem backwards if people make a big deal about being gay, unless it's a political drama, because politics still discriminate in terms of gender, race, sexual orientation, religion and who knows what else. I think it's a little bit about making a timeless movie/book/show because we all know being gay is not going to be an issue at all in another 20 or so years. Well, Islam will probably still have a problem with it, but they hate bikinis as well.

From the movie, not sure if it is the same with the novel, it is heavily implied that being gay is okay.

I have noticed that with many modern television shows and moves lately.
.

I noticed on Robert Irvine's show on Food Network, they were featuring a restaurant owned by a male gay couple. They were quite open about the fact that they were a couple, but didn't make a production of it. It was refreshing to see a gay couple portrayed no differently than a straight one - no big deal, exactly as it should be, IMHO.

It is. The only time I enjoy company is when I am making myself alone again.

Must be pissing off the religious nuts like crazy, especially since the stupid One Million Moms group credits itself for getting The New Normal show removed when it had more to do with ratings than them.

But if you remind OMM about being removed from Facebook, they will shut their stupid mouths.
The whole "being gay is ok" thing is a bit of a theme throughout the whole TMI series. You have his whole thing going on with Alec and Magnus, but the Clave aren't too happy about it, but the younger Shadowhunters are all cool with it and the whole thing encourages some other Shadowhunters to come out. It's nice. That series where I got the whole "You have to be bitten by a gay spider." thing as a response to people asking how people "become gay."

They're very good books, but their prequel series, "The Infernal Devices" (which is set in London in 1878) is so much better, the last one in that series is possibly the best book I've ever read in my life.
