For those who have been following his saga, an update: KEVIN LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He turned up at his assigned duty station, the food bowl, today, looking none the worse for wear!!! I am sooooooooooooooooo happy!!!!

I tried to snap some pics of him, but he's feeling shy. One day soon.

All I have to say is....

Animals are more resilient than we sometimes give them credit for - and they're smart enough to seek shelter from the cold.

Hooray for a safe kitty!

My nieces got a kitten on Friday, and they named her Penny. Actually, they insisted on calling her "Kitten" so Mummy and Daddy intervened.

I just got home from work followed by a trip to Sainsbury's (where I had a sneezing fit featuring a sneeze so hard a little bit of wee came out) and I'm now sitting down to watch tonight's episode of Hollyoaks with some Spaghetti

Now that's he's ok, I really want to ask: how on earth did a cat get a name like "Kevin"?

LOL, it's a fair question.

When Kevin came to me, he arrived with his three siblings on St. Patrick's Day. Another neighbor had taken in their mother, who was pregnant when someone dropped her out here. I agreed to take the kittens. So because of their arrival date, I named them Kevin, Fiona, Michael, and Seamus. Michael disappeared fairly early on (probably encountered a coyote or something), and Seamus took up residence across the road at a neighbor's place. So I still have Kevin and Fiona, along with a third cat who didn't come with this batch. I can't remember what I originally named her, I've been calling her The Bit for so long.

LOL, true... when they're smart enough to stay the hell out of trees they can't get back out of!!!

Running a long test on a hard drive that displayed some heat hiccups previously, as I need to fill that slot that I had errantly filled, otherwise the RAID 6 array is operating in degraded mode. (It can lose 1-2 drives and still function in a less than optimal mode. If a third drive fails, the entire file store would be lost.) It's been running for 5 hours, and says it needs 17 more hours to finish. Oh well, I have other tasks to complete.

I had an attack of the stupids and was mean and nasty when I should have been building bridges. So I got kicked, for cause.

Like the song says, "Life's like a firework, you're only lit once, and you must stand and radiate correctly."

I was a firework that radiated incorrectly, and now it is done.

Fair enough.

At least now this is a place where you can "let it hang out" so to speak.

I'm so happy to hear that!! So so happy for you , that's amazing. Almost going to say it's a miracle but there are a few on this forum who'd read too much into that XD.
