Beating my head against my desk at work. I have a ship whose port anchor is buried, and the pilot is unable to free it. This plays out in one of three ways: (1) the pilot eventually frees the anchor with no incident (best case scenario but unlikely); (2) we hire a salvage crew to cut the chain, retrieve the anchor, and re-attach (at $2000/hr. plus $5000 for their transit to and from the vessel plus additional pilotage and tug expenses to anchor the vessel while waiting for re-attachmen); and (3) the chain breaks while the pilot tries to free it, resulting in a $20,000/day salvage job (plus pilotage/tug/transit expenses) with no guarantee of success at retrieval.
*Sigh* I knew I should have called in sick today.
