They are and they aren't. Culinarily, nobody calls them berries, but in biology they are classified as such - contrariwise many of what we call berries are not, according to biological classification.

I just got back from playing mini golf with four kids.
I thought it would be nice to give the other two adults a break.
There were thousands of accusations of cheating.
One hit another in the head accidentally.
Both parties cried.
There was pushing and shoving.
No one could wait their turn.
There was name calling.
Entering the elevator my little one said to her cousin,"I had great fun, I can't wait to do it again."
To which the reply was, "me too, I love that game."
At this point a fight broke out over who would push the button. :-)
