I just created an auxiliary input for my phone/ipod on my car's stereo. My drill and soldering iron clearly voided the warranty.

Now, I am embarrassed to say that I am now on the second week of my yearly struggle with American Idol. I hate it, but I want to love it, so I watch for about a month...

Listening to a 1999 performance of Bach's Weihnachtsoratorium that I downloaded overnight. I'd much rather be listening to Herreweghe, but I seem to have misplaced the bulk of my classical music collection, including the Herreweghe performance. I guess beggars should be no choosers but I'm finding all sorts of things not to like by mentally comparing it to my favorite performances.

I'm always full of plans. My mind is a perpetually busy bee that seldom rests.


I'm most of the way to finishing the problem with my landlord. The manager threatened to bring in a city inspector, but so far I haven't received any notice, and they have to provide reasonable notice, so it ain't happening tomorrow. I've got maybe 8-10 hours work left on the apartment, but since I haven't gotten any notice that the hammer is going to fall, I've basically stopped until the mood and motivation returns. I've enlisted the assistance of my case manager / social worker to light a fire under my butt so that I finish the work in short order, whether or not the building management resumes applying pressure or not. My hunch is that the city inspector threat was just an empty threat to get me to panic and back down from confronting them about their more unreasonable demands.


Eating tuna with coffee and cola. I'm running low on sardines, herring, and mackerel, so I'm on the cheap until the start of February when I'll have money again.

I found that all the music files on the local copy of my classical music collection were missing earlier. After several abortive attempts to get into my file server, which is not production ready, I'm in, and all my classical music files are fine. Awe--SOME!!!
