Currently LMAO.

I let it be known in the office that I'm going to the local Buddhist temple this evening. Every Friday they have an English-speaking session of guided meditation that I'm keen to check out (all other services are in Vietnamese). One of the more strident Christians in the bunch was curious why I wanted to go, since it's also known I'm an atheist. Rather than go through the "you don't have to be a theist to practice Dharma" spiel, I told her that the attraction for me is that one has to stick fight another attendee for the right to use a meditation cushion in this place. I assumed she would know I was joking, but she thought I was completely serious. The look on her face was priceless.

I think I'm just going to let this story ride for a while.

Took the car in for an oil change, spent virtually the whole day typing EEG reports, tried in vain to find a reasonably-priced heated mattress cover, and just finished working with my flute for a while. Finally starting to get a nice tone out of the lowest notes on that thing. (Odd as it may sound, the low notes are harder to play than the high ones.)
