Dude, I'm hangin'.

Not a bad day's work Smile I wanted to be able to have a hierarchical record of arguments, such that you could go in at any level and see all the propositions, objections, summaries, notes etc at that point... so that I could work back down the tree to the foundations of certain arguments (Aquinas, looking at you  Wink). So the way it works is that an argument can contain a mixture of other arguments and immediate propositions in any order... so the five ways contains the first way, the second way etc, and any notes I want to make (which are immediate content) or analysis from other people... with a field for references. So I can look at it at the level of the five ways, or go down a level and choose a specific way, and then see its arguments and immediate content. I'm well chuffed, cos I wasn't sure it was going to be possible but it's working beautifully... so I can be organised for my course... yay  Big Grin and use this db to develop my own arguments and objections etc... so argue it as that same time as learning about it etc. Me happy  Smile

I just realizd... Squishy is studying philosophy... this means maybe me and him can talk philosophy and we'll both be super interested and able to learn something from each other.

EXCITEDLYNESS PANIC! EXCITEDLYNESS PANIC!

[panic emojis removed cos caused too many images in my post to post :-D]

Yarp... I'm obsessed with it now and soaking it up like a sponge... and when I'm not busy soaking it up like a sponge I'm obsessed with finding better ways to soak it up like a sponge Big Grin first there was making a website, but it was too slow and awkward, then came mind maps, which though hierarchical in a sense, do not allow for much interconnectivity of ideas on different 'branches'... so that was out, then came 'concept maps' which were much better because they have that interconnectivity and thus can be used to represent context, which is what I wanted but can be a little bit messy, especially when a lot of ideas are in play, and finally my little database, which basically takes that interconnectivity and centralises it for better organisation (ie I can do all my work for this course... and philosophy in general... in this one file... though I am happy to still use the concept maps for smaller ideas/summaries and revision, and pen and paper for middle-of-the-night thoughts/rough work that can later be transferred to the database if I want).

db design tangent Wink (giving you the benefit of hide tags because you know how I tend to go off on one when talking about neural networks? well I'm the same about software/database design, so imagine what I'm like when talking about software based on neural networks Big Grin):

So anyway, when I'm not either learning about philosophy or trying to improve my learning about philosophy, I'm just thinking about philosophy and working on my own theories Wink So I'm well and truly plugged in to the philosophy matrix and so yes I'd love to talk to you about it... not right now... got a Shameless USA to watch now before bed... but are you still watching handegg with Tibs? I haven't watched it for a while but I miss it, and I miss our chats afterwards Smile

Nah not in a while. At one point he was busy with RL stuff and other times he was modding Mafia games or playing in them I think Big Grin

Keep it up with the philosophy! Now it's 6:35 A.M. So that's bedtime for me now. Lol.

Currently I'm occupying myself with not snapping.

I can handle one thing out of everything everyone's asking of me at a time. Not twenty seven. I need that holiday right now. Really really badly. Next week I'll be dead already.
