Busy day and a bit -- Went to an Astronomy Society meeting last night and heard a lecture on dark nebulae; band practice this morning (got to play a couple of sax solos); cross-country skiing; did a bit of sewing; and placed an order for an E flat sopranino clarinet. *yay*

Going for coffee, and when I get home will probably do some blogging while still under the influence of mass quantities of caffeine -- because falling asleep before 3 a.m. is probably not gonna happen.

Awwww fuck! We lost. We had quite a few power plays, but we didn't do anything with them. Damn!

I replaced the transfer valve in the shower/tub in the front bathroom last week. I didn't close up the wall due to some leakage issues in the new solder joints. I used to be able to solder any joint, no matter my position or that of the joint. This appears to be a skill on the lost list.    I took it apart today, pulled another piece of copper pipe down from the rafters, and got more fittings from the store. Soldered those buggers together on the bench, and managed to get a leak-free shower connection. Success is sweet!   Now, I get to put in a drywall patch, texture it and paint it. Easy-peasy.

Living the high life of a double payday. Last paycheck from the previous job for 80+ hour (including PTO payout) and a 56 hour first paycheck paycheck from the new job that still beat it, and by a fair margin. Now I'm using the failing BIOS to justify replacing the motherboard, which of course requires a new processor (AMD Ryzen... Mmmmmmm....) new RAM, new video card (Nvidia 1060), etc... Basically a new rig to put in the current case.
