Decided to tackle a fairly complicated cookie recipe that involves ground-up pretzels and a salted caramel filling. Fortunately I didn't wait the recommended 25 minutes before sticking the biscuits together, because the caramel started to set up long before that.

They taste good, but they're ridiculously filling; one and I was done.

Relaxing after a rather brutal day at work, but I don't have to bother with it at all tomorrow. The 12 I pulled today got me to 40. Unexpected three-day weekend, here I come! Smile

Air show this weekend. Getting buzzed by the practice flights today. Very glad the dogs are not disturbed by loud noises. Trying to talk on the phone is ridiculous.

Finally getting around to reading the news of the day. I have trial subscriptions to the Washington Post and the New York Times, and will probably have to choose one or the other due to cost, but it's early yet, and I have come to no conclusions. I've also pulled up the National Review, but haven't determined if the online version is subscription only or not. I suppose it wouldn't be the worst thing if it was subscription only as they only want $59 a year for it. That's less than either the Post or the Times.
