Heading for his next round of chemo.
Does chemo make cats lose their hair, too?
Not so far.
But where he's been shaved on his belly, legs, and neck it's not growing back.

I ate dinner just before 6 o'clock because I was being picked up to go to a 7:00 pm meeting to talk about evil in the world, devils, and Satan. I usually don't eat until later, as I'm supposed to take my medication with food, and that can make me sleepy, so I put it off until everything else is done. So, I didn't take my medication earlier. I'm supposed to eat at least a 350 calorie meal with my medication, and looking at this big bag of salt & vinegar potato chips, it looks like that will fit the bill. Not sure that's what the makers of the medication had in mind, but fuck it. (I could also get 350 calories eating a brick of Gorgonzola with crackers. But that's a reward, so I'll do that another time.)

If it's a funds thing, you can get super, ultra, mega cheap curtains on ebay from China.
I just had to buy curtains for my whole damn house. Guests didn't love not having curtains in their bedroom and I'm getting tired of the street half an acre away reflecting on computer screen.
I don't recall exactly what they cost, but we recently purchased nice curtain rods and grommeted curtain panels for the entire house from Amazon and they were quite reasonable.

Hey, I’ve been in a similar place with a parent. If you need to talk, I’m around.
I may take you up on that. Thanks, Shell.

I just prefer the open look, without curtains. My objection to curtains isn't economic so much as it is just personal preference. It's something I just need to get over or seriously consider re-arranging the furniture to make them unnecessary. But I'm like anybody else, so long as I'm not pumping blood out a vein or something, I can readily find reason to avoid taking any positive steps for resolving the situation until the next time I'm left squinting trying to read the screen in spite of the sunlight in my eyes and the glare on the screen.

My brother and sister stayed over with my dad last night, we could not. He went to his first AA meeting last night, begrudgingly.
Our original plan to monitor him and reevaluate in two weeks hit an iceberg after my siblings observed palpable symptoms of dementia. He could not remember the agreement we had made the prior day, amongst other things.
We made him an appointment up here for tomorrow for a medical consultation. The new plan was for him to return with my brother and sister for a few days. For some time he refused to leave today, but he finally relented and they are now on their way to my mom's.
I haven't slept much since this first went sideways several days ago, and what sleep I did get was benzo induced and bad quality. Once he arrives I may be able to finally sleep.

That's a tough spot you're in. Good luck.

Sorry for the hell you're going through, CD. I hope you're able to get the support from legal and medical people to get your father the help that he needs.

I'm so sorry, Cathooloo. My grandfather suffered from Parkinson's for three years... I know it (Dementia wouldn't be much different, I reckon.) can be extremely difficult.
In response to the thread title, I finished my first exam of this semester today, and I'm currently sitting in the dark, listening to a thunderstorm going on outside, with a scared doggo whimpering by my side. I have so much inspiration to write about something right now, but I only have five minutes before I have to, like, study and stuff for tomorrow. This is one of the things I hate the most about exams... they make it hard to live in the moment sometimes. I think the Indian education system especially emphasizes exams far too much... it's a sucky sucky thing. But oh well, only a month to go before I will be done with all exams until college.
On an unrelated note, I have 18 reps and it's the 18th of October.... my mom thinks 18 is a bad number. Wouldn't wanna make mommy unhappy, now would we? Hint hint.

have a CD, sounds like you've been on a tough ride the last couple days.
Eating breakfast, waiting for an email to come through, then the plan is to goof off the rest of the day unless/until a project needs my attention.
Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.
