Thanks.  I'm working abbreviated days.  I considered taking some FMLA I can't really afford to take any unpaid time off at this point.  You are correct though, I can't keep this up indefinitely, my mental health is already suffering.

Then prioritize. I don't think you can do that much for you Dad right now, except consider plans for after rehab/respite. Your family can/should help with that (unless they have wives in the hospital also). Sounds like KG needs to be the priority.

I'm taking today and tomorrow off unpaid for a mental health break for myself.

You're right that my wife has to take priority. It's hard not to worry about everything else though. She might be coming home as soon as Sunday and then have some respite of her own.

His condition has worsened since I last saw him. The hematoma is still bleeding into his brain, with all that condition entails. As a result he is both not being discharged imminently, when/if he is he will be going to a locked assisted living facility. We resisted that but it is the wisest course. He will resent it no matter where he goes so that's that.

First update on my Vaux amp project in a while, I was kind of nervous at the prospect of dissecting my AC-Tone and putting it into the amp. So, given that they are cheap as fuck (Instrument alley has then for $42 including shipping) I decided to order one. It came yesterday, and, since it came in Amazon Prime packaging, and while I was in class, it took a while for it to register. I tried it out, and it sounds great, although the battery compartment is a bit snug. Sounds great and I think I may be putting that one into the amp instead of my old one.

Also, I decided to dial back the reverb, decay time around 1.14 seconds (a site on John Squier pointed me in that direction). Sounds better than having the decay time up all the way, like I used to do.

Finishing up the last of my Early Applications to colleges and reminiscing about last year. This time in 2017 I was on my way to / arriving at SFO and looking forward to seeing Portland for the first time since 2011. This time this year I'm wishing for colder weather here in India and stressing about college apps and exams. I know what I need - another puppy.

This time in 2017 I was on my way to / arriving at SFO and looking forward to seeing Portland for the first time since 2011. Ran some errands after work, renewing my auto insurance and picking up everything on the household shopping list (including, but not limited to, a few yards of 14/2 electrical wire and a package of Thai red curry paste).

And then I sat down with a music scoring program and started transcribing a regimental march that we play every Remembrance Day.

Figured the clarinets in the band deserved a copy that we could actually read, for a change...

Just got home from work and found that my buddy, Squish, had died sometime during the day.

I'll be dropping him down tomorrow for cremation.
