Some turd in Rotorua gave me his cold.

Here's to holidaying "locally" - have a nice time. Why many people feel the need to fly half way round the world and back, dumping untold quantities of noxious pollution straight into the upper atmosphere in the process, in order to "have a nice break" and "get away from it all" is a source of perpetual vexation to me.

Well, it looks like a bunch of YouTube videos I've been waiting for for a long time have come out around the same time:
  • Fredrik Knudsen brought out his first Down the Rabbit Hole documentary since last year's 86-minute take on TempleOS, a comparatively short history of the hurdy-gurdy.
  • Defunctland has come out with Part Two of their retrospective on the history of the Muppets. And incredibly, he still manages to get Michael Eisner into the act (like he does in his normal Defunctland videos), since he apparently inspired the first pilot for the The Muppet Show. Also, somehow Kevin manages to mispronounce Waldorf.
  • KrimsonRogue finally got to cover Onision's last book, and, like every YA franchise now, the last book is being split into two parts, because there's so much horrible bullshit that it can't be contained into a single 80-minute video like the last two books (and this is actually his shortest book, if the Kindle size is any indication; it's his longest paperback, but apparently he padded the print version out with double spacing). I knew nothing about Onision until I saw this video in my recommended feed with the title Nihilistic Cringe, with Krimson talking about the worst book he ever read. And, between everything from typos and basic spelling errors to borderline child pornography (this most recent of his books has a scene where... well, I will say Krimson felt so unclean even touching the book after one particular scene that he put on latex gloves), each book keeps getting worse...

Thanks, I figured I'd change it for the people who confused the name with diapers, I think Rev. Rye was the only one who got the reference.

It's only 7 A.M. on the first of May and I've already spent half my May budget for miscellaneous expenses and my entire cash budget for groceries. I can't wait to start getting money from plasma donations. Unfortunately they need to get an okay from my psychiatrist and have their doctor approve me first, and that will likely take weeks. Oh well, I've got the green light to order a bicycle, and I've got one already picked out. And I can now look for a good deal on a 4 TB external hard disk on Ebay. This month is going to be over before it begins.

(Ooh, silver lining though, I haven't spent my May allocation for alcohol and I'll be picking up a 12 pack of hard cider tonight. Woohoo!)

Aw crap. I was going to go to an orientation for new volunteers at a computer and technology recycling place today, but they're closed for International Workers' Day.
