So, the latest in the very strange saga, I cropped the picture I took to just show the redness, sent it to an online app that simplifies Colour in pictures, limited the number of colors to as few as possible, ran it through my Colour picker app, and while it turns out to be more than the two colors, the most prominent Colour: A5140F.

Trying to rescue my crop of carrots. I made a makeshift carrot protector from an old cereal box, it got wet and blew away. My dog isn't helping.

Well, shit. I saw how badly my two brothers hurt when they were on chemo. I'm hoping for the best (medicine) for your condition.

And now for the true colour of blood.
And to recap, I accidentally cut myself earlier today and, inspired by this, decided to put a drop's worth (which ended up being the extent of the injury) onto a piece of paper. Using my iPhone, I took a picture within the first couple minutes, cropped it, and tried to use my color picker and extractor app to get a proper hex value. Unfortunately, this ended up being extremely difficult, although I found a general range for it. I then found a Limit Color Numbers to limit it down to two colours. This didn't exactly work as planned, as there were somehow a ton more colours, even if it went from a general "dark red" to "brighter red." Eventually, I decided to settle on a different colour picker, and I think I got a definitive value. But before this, I should point out that, a couple hours after the first photo, I took another one for the same dried blood drop, which had dried. For whatever reason, it wound up being easier to pick, since when I limited this one down to two colours, it wound up being only one.
So, that nobody else may need to cut themselves and find out exactly what colour blood is:
FRESH BLOOD: A61410 (166,20,16)
DRIED BLOOD: 572122 (87,33,34)
Those are hex values, for the record.

I have no frame of reference for that other than I've seen movies. That sounds horrible, I'm sorry you have to go through that.

My brother who eventually succumbed to lung cancer told me that the massive body ache that can accompany the flu was nothing compared to chemo. I wasn't there for a lot of that treatment, having a job and a family of my own to contend with, back then. I saw the effects of chemo on my youngest brother more recently. He looked like he'd been beaten and then dragged through a knothole, without the bruises. I'm of a mind, at my age, if I get cancer I'm just going the nitrogen bag route. Chemo will just be an extremely painful delay of the inevitable, at my age. Beccs, I truly wish you the best.
