Had a crappy day but the small things make it better. I took my dog's bone and while he laid next to me, I put it up to my face and pretended to chew on it, making noises. He watched me for a moment, then stood up on the couch next to me and gently put his paw up to "grab" it and direct it away from my mouth area. Then he took it from me and laid down on the other side of the couch with his back to me. XD Getting ready for bed, just wanted to share.

I went Intel, 8th/9th generation Z390 chipset. In hindsight, I think if I had to do it over again, I'd go AMD, or maybe 10th generation Intel. I used the rule of thumb that just back of the newest stuff is the sweet spot, which in this case was wrong. And I went with Intel because I've got a history of troubles with AMD. Those troubles are long enough ago that I should have just ignored them, but I felt more secure going with Intel all the same. The next build might be an AMD box. For now I've got an unused Pentium Gold G5420 that I'm not sure what to do with. It would make a nice little system, and I've got just the right Asrock board in mind for under $100, but I honestly don't know what I'd do with yet another machine. I've already got four machines besides my file server. Though I could sell the old Z77 board which I just swapped out of my main desktop. It's 3rd/4th gen Intel, and is only getting longer in the tooth with each day that passes.
I upgraded a couple of years ago. Intel i9900K, Z390 gigabyte Aorus Master, purdy Gskill rgb ram. I can't see myself needing to upgrade for a long time.
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.
Awaiting some test results but generally okay after another lot of tests today.
Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???"
Did some arts & crafts, and a really nice salted meat dinner with a paprika soup afterwards. Now just relaxing in my room.
Waiting for my autopsy results.

I didn't expect the improvement would be that noticeable, but it is, even in non-intensive tasks.
I was so focused on installing the CPU yesterday, it didn't occur to me to install the SSD in the M.2 slot next to the CPU socket. It's still doable with the heatsink installed, just more difficult.
Just finished giving baths to all three dogs. Now I need a bath, the bathroom needs a bath, and I definitely need a nap.
