Well, the solution is to disable our phones till Apple decides to let me reset the password after it proves I am me.  This after a call from the guy I just spent an hour on the phone with.  

Next phone will NOT be an iPhone.

Well, having been a line programmer (FORTRAN, and then with C++ extensions- yes, I'm OLD) for a decade or so, and having had Apple products inflicted on me (I mainly used mainframes), and my one experience with a MAC that crashed with astonishing regularity (well, I shouldn't use the word "regularity" in this regard, because it was anything but "regular")), I wouldn't have another Apple product ever again...except, much to my eternal shame, I have to admit that I did buy an iPod to use in my car, for music. Sirius/XM sucks even worse, and I won't pay for bad shit, especially on a monthly basis.

Sirius is going when it comes up for renewal the first part of July.  I've been paying $5.00 a month.  If you call to cancel they offer you that price.  Considering the very little time I spend in the car anyway and that when I am in the car I am switching through 5 presets till I give up and land on the 6th preset which is a local AM station.

I am so frustrated with Apple right now.

Only had one apple phone.

I t'was a makeshift gift after my Nokia 5110 litterally fell apart (Like, physically. Antenas were dropping off. Plate seams were comming apart.)

Got to admit that the user controls for the apple were nice. Very inutitive. The charging cable?
Fek me! almost EVERY month I'm hunting for a new charging cable because the connections are crapping out in the current one.
Can I walk into any elecrtonics 'Hardware' type store and buy a replacment? Nope, apple only of your phone is kaput.
Good luck traipsing about and finding a new one.
Next phone was a Samsung. Simple, easily found generic charging cable available in any supermarket,m hardware store etc.
Been with a G-4 ever since. Lil' thing's still running.

Looking just now at my cell phone account and I can get a pretty good trade in on this POS phone to put toward a Samsung.  My daughter is pretty happy with hers so I am going to find out which one she has.  Apple can bite me.  grrrrr

I have an iPod solely to use when I used to commute to work and back, because other than traffic information, I had zero use for the radio. Now that I'm retired, sadly, Apple has the market cornered on music in the car unless one gets a vehicle with a USB port. One of my sons found a product like the iPod, but made by Microsoft many years ago, but it went toes up, and one can't buy them anymore.

FWIW, I remember seeing LP record players that one put the records in from the bottom and had a spring-loaded needle to minimize skipping while driving a car on the street. I personally had a 4-track cassette player, back in the day.

Do they blood test you?  I remember going through years of CA 27-29 tests until the very last one when they used CA-xxx something else, I can't remember the number any more.  My doctor was all about minimal testing so I had the blood test every six months and a chest X-ray every year.  At the 5 year mark she declared me cancer free.

Decided to take some scrap leather and create some picks for my Uke (since the standard plastic picks are a bit too strident for Nylon or even Nylgut strings.) Here’s the first four I made:



The #1 drawback, of course, is that they’re pretty floppy, and even after I used the “soaking in cool water and then immersing them in 180-degree water” trick, they’re still not perfect, though better than they were. The sheet of scrap leather I used still has enough for about eight more. Anyone have any other ideas for how to stiffen leather?

And another night on the phone with Apple...two calls. Then got an email saying I will get a text or a call at precisely 8:53 Sunday night that will maybe allow me to get back into my Apple account.

That's a full week of fucking with this mess. I am so over it.
