RE: What's everyone up to right now?

Internet went out last night and we stream for tv content so had to fall back to the old stand by's, DVD and VCR. Only to discover that the DVR player had crapped out. Watched VCR tapes made in the 80's (Basic Instinct and Big Chill). I must be one of a very few that still has a VCR player and tapes.
(adds DVD player to the christmas list)

Big Chill is one of my favorite movies.

We have two old VCRs, neither of which have been used in years, and tons of tapes. They shoul all be gotten rid of, but the wife just can't let them go.

When's the last time you tried to use them? I found 3 tapes that were completely unusable. One was the original Producers.

Drinking coffee. I finished my exercise and don't have to do housework until noon, so I've got time to fart around.

Forgot to eat again today. I grabbed a couple snacks at the dollar store. A snack size buffalo chicken salad and crackers, and a candy bar. The candy bar was a bit old. Bad choice. I was hoping to get to Wal-Mart tonight, but I've already got one stop to make, and between the first bus not showing up and taking 30 minutes to eat something, I'm already running behind.

Yesterday, a DVD of the original Dr Zhivago arrived, the special 25 year anniversary edition. It cost $6.50 delivered , on Ebay. It came in a large envelope, with $2.60 in postage stamps. So $3.90 for the DVD, including a DVD of Extras. I was pleased when the quality turned out to be quite good, probably standard definition, which is still way better than VHS .

It's got to be more than 15 years. On a good note, one of my sons is building a wooden arbor for his garden, to which I am only having to help a little to make it easier. He could do it single-handedly, but that would be a dick move on my part. Then we can recycle all that shitty "decorative" iron tubing stuff.

Glad you added the second sentence...my mind was starting to wander off in directions it didn't need to go.
