Just cancelled the hotel reservations for the trip that my daughter and I were planning for the third year in a row.
I am trying to get used to the fact that I will probably never make it home again or to see my best friend again.
First, it was COVID, then it was COVID again. This year my daughter just has too many expenses with her daughter's upcoming senior year of high school and she was invited to an out of state wedding the week before...just too much going on.
I was looking forward to it as it was to be my 65th birthday trip...but I guess it's okay.

Sewing and watching season 11 of 'Call the Midwife'.
I took Friday and Monday off so tomorrow is my last work day before a four day weekend. Looking forward to a break very much..

This has not been one of my better days. I canceled my ILS appointment to have more time to prepare for maintenance coming into my apartment on Friday. Instead I spent all afternoon arguing transgender rights at AD. I looked up and it was 4:00 and I mistakenly thought the last bus to Maplewood was coming in 5 minutes. So I throw on some clothes and hustle downstairs -- no shower, no watch, no hat. When I got to the bus stop I realized that I had another hour before the last bus, but I said fuck it, I'm already here. So I get to my transfer point and see my reflection in the glass -- hair sticking up all over the place. But I was already committed. So I get to Maplewood and I reach the point at the end where, after all your blood has been returned, the machine pumps saline in to replace the lost fluids. And then the machine got stuck. I didn't complete the full cycle, so I had to drink a Gatorade before I left. I don't fully understand how drinking Gatorade is any substitute for restoring the fluid and electrolyte balance with saline, but whatever. When I get home I'm going to adjust the alcohol balance in my blood. To hell with the maintenance people tonight. I guess I'll have to do it all tomorrow.

The electrolytes from Gatorade will get into your bloodstream the same way the alcohol does.
