Goddmanit! Called the local SS offices and held for about half an hour. Then the message said they would try to connect me with an agent...the phone rang for nearly 15 minutes before I got another message saying to try again.

I found a form for what I need but where to mail it is obviously a closely held government secret.

Nothing quite like our government to just fucking make you give up.

I am pleased to announce that local Social Security offices will restore in-person services, including for people without an appointment, on April 7, 2022. To avoid waiting in line, I strongly encourage people who can, to use our online services, call us, and schedule appointments in advance rather than walking in without an appointment.

Just got COVID booster #2. Hope the side effects are as mild as they were the last time.

I'm debating getting my second booster. One article I read suggested trying to time it to the next wave of the virus, as the enhanced immunity fades after several months.
