What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Bought a little vocal amp and a mic. The 12 string I want isn't available until September, though.

First real day of surgery since getting better and recertified.

It's good to have blood on my hands again.

Awake too early and realizing how much I prefer iced tea to water as I have to not eat or drink anything in order to have bloodwork drawn this morning. BLAH

Three sticks, no blood...just bruises. Oh goody, I get to go back when the tech who can actually get blood from my veins is back from vacation.

Again?   Blood from the first time can be covered up, but never washed off.

I've had phlebotomists give up and get someone else. Several lately seem to prefer the veins on the back my hands. Having worked as a mechanic (and other mechanical trades), they are pretty big.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

First girl didn't even want to try.  Then the lab tech missed twice.  Then the nurse went for the back of my hand...failure all around.  I was not a happy camper after playing pincushion.

Actually, blood washes off fairly easily.

The secret is using a strong bleach to wash off the residue.

BTDT. When I was in Boot Camp, one time the "Corpsman" went into one arm, poking around a few times (9, by my count) and switched to the other arm (I lost count) and finally got blood. I looked like an addict, what with all the bruising.  Dodgy And in those days I was skinny as a rail and my veins were quite obvious.

A couple years ago I was sent to a lab to have multiple tubes of blood drawn.  The tech came in the room and had nails about an inch or an inch and a half long.  I thought...oh no, this is not going to go well.  I can't do a thing with long nails.  She got every tube of blood needed with a stick I didn't even feel and it didn't even leave a bruise.  I was amazed.  I guess I will wait till the girl who always decorates her space with themed rubber ducks gets back from vacation...or they can send me back to the girl with the nails.

To add to my frustration, the lab tech today had his mask well below his nose.  COVID is climbing in Dallas county again...if I get sick, I am going to hold him down and draw his blood.   Diablo
