Turns out that today's a Criterion Flash Sale day, and I've decided that this time around, in commemoration of Columbus Day slowly turning into Indigenous People's Day (sharing the love with Leif Erickson* would have been nice, but that's for another discussion), I figured I'd buy a Blu-Ray of Dead Man, co-starring my favourite Native American character in film:



Also, some extra Blu-Ray cases because I've noticed that some of the cases in my Criterion Collection are shit.


*Note: A lot of the shit that's been traditionally attributed to Columbus, namely: discovering the New World, actually figuring out that it wasn't actually India, actually settling on the continent, and somehow doing all that half a millennium prior to Columbus without resorting to enslaving and committing genocide on the natives has been done by him, and, as a bonus, not only does Leif Erickson Day actually exist outside of that one episode of SpongeBob, it falls very close to Columbus Day.

Okay, so I gave in to Amazon Prime days. The sewing machine I have isn't an expensive one, but I really like it. It just ordered another one just like it as the price dropped and all my accessories will work should my current machine croak.

When I bought the one I have been quilting with (replacing one I had for decades) I had to buy a lot of new accessories since it was a different brand and there was just enough difference that I couldn't use what I had on hand. I figure that model will be replaced soon and I would have to do it all again at some point in the near future.

I'm waiting for Black Friday. The TV that I've currently got in mind isn't on sale. It might not go on sale. Anyway, I also want an XBOX and a new phone. I don't think I'll be able to get all that before the new year.

I was allowing my imagination to run as wild as it usually does and thinking his wife enjoys torturing him.

I hope they get it all. Glass shatters in weird ways. I'll share a weird story about glass. The globe on the light in the master bathroom spontaneously shattered (as in, I have no reason why it would do that) one morning. I vacuumed the bathroom and bedroom floors, thinking that I got all the pieces of glass. Weeks later, my wife came gimping out of the bedroom asking me to take a glass shard out of her foot. It was in a sandal, 25 feet away from that globe, and would have had to ricochet off the bathroom door jamb and go under the cabinet where those sandals were lying, bounce up and land there. Freak-deaky, to say the least. That's one of those events WAY out on one limb of the probability curve, for certain.
