My neighbor's 27 year old daughter has been missing since March 14 and my street is now copland. Federal, state, and local LEOs canvassing the neighborhood, walking in the woods with dogs, street blocked off to keep the media out. No cell or social media activity other than a final ping on her phone 25 meters from her house. Does not look good.

My 11 year old daughter is freaked out. We tell her to look at all of the people helping our neighbors but she's scared. The woman resides 4 doors down from us.

As a true crime addict, this kind of story makes me queasy.

I think back to when I was a kid and we were sent outside to stay there till dark...or later.  Riding bikes and skates, playing by and in the creek where we were hidden from view, ice skating from one side of town to another and no one worried about us.

Then when I was a teen and early 20s, hitch hiking was not unheard of.  I did it, at night, alone.  Never thought about the potential danger.  'Course mom would tell us that if anyone kidnapped us they would bring us back...those warm and fuzzy memories of a different time.

Now, it seems that there is real danger around every corner.

Went to Sketchbook for trivia night. For the first time ever, 27 Offsuit (read: Dad and I) won first prize. We’re finally earning the name I chose. Admittedly, I was a little disappointed that first prize was only $35 in a gift certificate, but at least Dad was willing to augment it with $20 so I could buy this:



So, now that I’ve finally won enough to buy that shirt, I guess I can just focus on winning for the fun of it.
