Trying a new pair of headphones. I found a pair of over-the-ear headphones with 80% five-star reviews on Amazon for under $50. And I got an extra $10 due to a lightning deal. I like them a lot. Good sound, good volume, comfortable.

Tried to order a book from the same vendor that I used to get my leather-bound copy of American Psycho. In the intervening year plus since then, however, something in the site just broke. I tried to use Paypal to pay for it, but it refused to allow Paypal to do anything. And in my confusion as to what the fuck was going on, I ordered the same thing twice. And when I try to cancel one of the orders, it also won't let me do that.

And to give some context, here’s what happens when I try to use PayPal on the site. It seems to work fine elsewhere.

Edit: evidently I can actually pay with my normal credit card. So, I think I've just paid for one of the orders.

And evidently, they cancelled the other order. Hopefully, at some point in the future, I’ll have a hardcover copy of the Manheim translation of Journey to the End of the Night.

Vacuum sealing some meat that I had thawed out. Target sells their own brand of hot and mild uncooked Italian sausage, so I bought some to try.

It' snowing pretty good outside. I guess that winter storm warning was real.

I have no getup and go today. I was going to make curried chicken, but I just can't get started.

Gearing up for night two of our annual tank battle using the Armor boardgame. My partner and I are defending Bastogne. In the opening night my British Comets and Cromwells showed excellent marksmanship, scoring 18 hits in 26 rolls of the dice. Of those 18, only 3 resulted in a destroyed enemy tank. The shells just bounced off. Now the Germans have closed to within 10 hexes of my AT batteries, which are about to open up with 3 six pounders.

Tonight and one more should decide the battle. General Patton is rushing reinforcements to Bastogne. Been playing this game for nearly 25 years and I'm still the new guy.

I do enough work at work that there's no point adding to it at home.

First Bank of America closes our account with no explanation and a refusal to explain anything.

The boyfriend then switches my direct deposit to another account, one which I had no idea was also associated with BoA. This account recently came under review.

Had to switch to another bank.

Any one else have issues with BoA? Can't find anything particular in the news, but something very fishy must be going on with them because it's certainly not us.
