A fugitive ditched his car and took off on foot at the intersection by our house, with a truck load of Guardia Nacional soldiers in pursuit. They dismounted by the car and went after him on foot but it looks like they didn't catch him. At least two more trucks of soldiers and some municipal cops came within minutes. No idea who the fugitive is.

Now that I think about it the group home will occasionally have a resident go sideways.

Still haven't puzzled out what happened. The first thought was narcos, but GN does other law enforcement as well so who knows? The Transitos (traffic cops) are the only ones still at the scene.

Setting the time on one more clock.  I've still got a few clocks that need adjusting to DST, but the main ones are changed.  I just don't give much of a fart these days.

I have two alarm clocks. One on Summer, one on Winter. They're stacked. One faces out, one faces in. I rotate the stack every six months or so.

Nah. The view from our window wasn't great, and I didn't think it wise when I couldn't do it clandestinely.

Our hotel canceled our reservation for the eclipse. We're still going. Worst case scenario will be sleeping in the car.

About 30 years ago I did the bookwork for a ready mix concrete company.  We weren't in the greatest part of town.  The dispatcher would call me over to his tower when a takedown was happening.  From up there we had the best view for the unmarked cars coming in, car chases, K-9 units, and guys getting handcuffed to chain link fences.  It was nice to have some excitement now and then and was also the reason we got to have a company dog.  Maggie and I made friends as soon as I showed up with a box of treats.  She did a good job of keeping the bad guys away from our property.

Making some cornbread for the parrots and doing a few other household chores. Have half an hour before taking Harley to be freed of her stitches and that damn inflatable collar. I am even tired of it...I know she must be.
