What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Having some "Christmas Tea." It's black tea flavored with cinnamon and cloves.

I paid almost half the bill that day.  Two days later I get an email demanding either the balance due or to set up a payment plan.  I paid the remainder of original estimate.  A week later I got another email demanding the balance...which was now down to a couple hundred dollars.  I called to ask why they were bugging so much when I was obviously paying.  The lady on the phone said she wasn't sure why the billing department was being so aggressive.  I went ahead and paid the rest.

Today I received a check for half the amount that was over the estimate.

WTAF.  I mean, that's great and I am not going to turn down money but they were treating me like some deadbeat for about 11 days only to find out they were overcharging me in the first place.

Medical care in the US is so damn broken.

We get those demand letters also. It's really irritating is when insurance rejects the claim because the doctors billing office filed a claim incorrectly, yet they still send out a demand letter. Anytime my wife's insurance refuses to pay it's typically a Dr. billing office fault. Thankfully my part C medicare hasn't had that problem.

A local community college's electronics program could probably use them, if functional.  You may be able to write them off of taxes, too.

I have a major weakness for a real old-fashioned apple fritter.

Especially the ones that are about the size and appearance of a large cow pie.

YUM!

Speaking ow which... you haven't lived until you've walk across a cow pasture in the morning...barefooted.

Thinking of adding a room to the house. We discussed it, and we agree that the books are crowding us out.

Be sure to bring the good stuff.  I miss passing around a couple of good doobies among friends.

That and a fifth of Jack.

Edibles just don't have the same cachet.

The last time I did that (was probably about 12), I managed to avoid all the cowpats, but only because I stepped on a thistle and hobble-shrieked my way back to the house.

Boru

At my maternal grandmother's house everyone had always been voracious readers.  Often, living on an island there's not a lot else to do.

The garage was used as more of a family room than it ever was used as a garage.  The last time I was there, one wall that was about half the length of the house was shelves and shelves of books from above the usual flood level to the ceiling.  And there were books on nearly every flat surface through the rest of the house.

There really were no other items collected...just lots and lots of books.

Just gave Ziggy a bath. No matter how much I dry him, he thinks he needs to complete the job on the couch.

Yesterday I bathed the other two.

Now it's my turn. That and lots and lots of laundry.
