Early days yet, but I've got three chords I can usually get to ring true without a ton of fussing and my chord changes, while still slow and sloppy, are getting better.
Oddly, and very unrelatedly, my keyboarding skills (computer, not instrument) are improving noticeably quicker now that I'm learning the guitar.
I struggled with guitar until I learned banjo. Guitar came fairly easily after that.

Just found out that my daughter-in-law's brother died yesterday. He was diagnosed with MD around the age of 5 and wasn't expected to live past 16. He was in his early thirties and his body couldn't take any more. The guy went through so much in his life...things I wouldn't wish on anyone.

While practicing last night, trying to ignore the ever more dismal election returns, I fingered a new chord, and to make sure the strings were ringing true, I plucked out the individual notes. Chord Asuss2: Plucked out B-G-D-A-E and thought "Hmmm, that's kinda familiar." Plucked them again and thought "Heart? 'Dog and Butterfly?'" Nah... Plucked once more and it sounded so much like it that I looked it up. Yep. Heart's "Dog and Butterfly opens with a plucked Asuss2 chord, B-G-D-A, then strum D-A-E, and repeat four times. Granted, it's only four bars, but in less than a week I've gone from never having strummed a chord to playing actual music. Still a long, long way to go, but I was thrilled to hit that milestone.

Getting ready for a food experiment. I bought some au jus and the makings for a French Dip. Going to give the sammich a go in the air fryer.
