seem okay but if youre a prisoner youre definitely not around kids, what, the innocent.

So inmates are always fighting?  That must be a very difficult and stressful environment.

I guess you can't avoid some of the worst people.

people in general fight where there is no outlet for things. if I am eating
sweet food in your face or right next to you then it does cause a fight to
happen even on the side. stress is when youre in close quarters with people
its hard to involve others. think of it like theres a short list of things you can
do between people when you have prisoners. fight is one of the only things
they can do.

The only ones left:
  • Scott Pilgrim
  • A Clockwork Orange
  • Neon Genesis Evangelion
  • Her
  • Donnie Darko
  • Nobody
Also, it looks like PixelArt did a secret drop again. Fortunately, this time, it looks like they're all fairly small, but there's a lot of them. (Edit: I did all 105 of them)

When I woke up and opened up my laptop, all I could see was the Dell logo. Fortunately, Dad fixed it, and found that it was apparently the SD card that I had been keeping in my laptop. Apparently, it tried to boot windows from it. Also, I added another movie patch to the jacket, and it’s my favourite Semi-canonical autism movie, Leon: The Professional

And, yes, I’m saying semi-canonical* because I’ve seen the special features and they explicitly state that Jean Reno played him as autistic. And a big part of why was so that he could make the relationship with Mathilde (disturbingly one-sided as it is) palatable.

* As opposed to canonical autism movies (e.g. Mary and Max and The Accountant) where the movie’s explicit about characters being autistic, or head-canonical autism movies (e.g. Taxi Driver, Big Lebowski, The Graduate, and a shitton of other movies I could name) where it’s likely nobody used the A-word while making it.

^Purely out of curiosity, in your estimation, are there any movies where none of the characters show signs of autism?

Reading that the supposed leak of 89 million Steam accounts was a false alarm. Oh well. Password changed already.

Rev, do you think you pick up on autistic characters because of your own diagnosis?

Here's why I ask...when I was pregnant with my kids I seemed to notice pregnant women more than when I was not pregnant.  When I got my car a few years back, it seemed I saw that same model car everywhere when I didn't remember seeing it before.

Just a matter of being more tuned in, perhaps?

I think so. Case in point, take this scene from Taxi Driver (my second favourite movie):

I can remember reading Quentin Tarantino talking about watching the movie with a black audience, and (especially in the first half), they treated it as comedic. Specifically, Quentin recalls hearing someone say "What the fuck did you think was going to happen?" in reaction to this scene. But my mind, it makes perfect sense that he'd try something like this. Not as a form of self-sabotage, like most neurotypical critics suggest*, but because it makes sense that when you go on a date, you'd introduce your date a bit to your world. Maybe integrate her into your social life, what little social life you have outside of work. And outside of that, well, the closest thing he seems to have to a social life outside of work is going to porno theaters. So, it makes a lot of sense that he thinks that going to one is a good idea for a date. And, frankly, I've made more shocking social faux pas than even that, even to people in authority.

* It would probably be easier for me to buy into this explanation if not for the fact that, in the aftermath of the date's failure, he tries to reconnect with Betsy TWICE, and in a way that suggests he doesn't quite get it. Maybe she was a bit too delicate on the phone.

Just finished watching the last couple of episodes of Andor.

If LucasFilm (Disney) don't give that writer more Star Wars projects, they're idiots!
