What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Nice. My health insurer offers rewards for regular health maintenance procedures like physicals and checkups. I was eligible for a $50 reward for my colonoscopy in June, but I was having trouble finding someone to sign the form as I didn't get it signed that day. Someone at the referral desk at the clinic that referred me offered to help by filling out a form and sending it to the records department of the hospital. A couple of months went by without any info about it, so I assumed that it had just yielded bupkis. This week I got a notice from my insurer that I'd received the reward in question! The only wrinkle is that I lost the reloadable debit card they use to transfer the reward funds. Last time I needed a new card, I had to get transferred between a half dozen different departments before I got connected to someone who could help. It being Sunday, I wasn't expecting much, but there was an option for requesting a new card on the phone menu for customer service. So it was as easy as pie!

I was beginning to think that carbon steel cookware wasn't for me, as my skillet was still having a lot of sticking. Several more times cooking in it and it's developed a nice, non-stick layer. It's a bit mottled in color, but I'm guessing that isn't important. I bought a 10" carbon steel skillet during Prime Days. Given the problems I was having with the 12", I thought maybe that was a mistake. Now that I know better, I'm looking forward to working with the 10" skillet.

Reset my phone to factory settings. Had to login to T-Mobile to get my E-Sim back.

I just got back from Aldi's. On a whim, I bought some fresh garlic. It adds a lot of flavor, but often I'm too lazy to use fresh garlic.

Even though I've resumed the Latuda, my sleep continues to be disturbed. I'm not sure, but it didn't seem like I slept last night. I feel fairly rested, nonetheless.

I was thinking of going to Wally World, but it's cold and wet, so I'm having things delivered instead.

Character in Wizard 101 got stuck on a sidewalk decoration of a pumpkin. No amount of gymnastics freed me. Had to teleport home and make my long way back.

So, on Easter this year, Paper Will released a video about fake Jesuses. And one section in particular caught my eye. Specifically, the one about James Jesse Strang: the polygamous Mormon pirate king of Beaver Island.

Admittedly, he technically didn't claim to be Jesus, but he did proclaim himself King of the Kingdom of God on Earth," which I guess is probably the next best thing to being Jesus. Paper Will decided, as a bit of humour, to turn the idea "Mormon Pirate King of Beaver Island" into a plushie. He started a pledge drive on Makeship to make this a reality, and it made its goal. I should know, because I was one of the people who pledged it.

Unfortunately, it's been a long time coming. It's been almost six months and, to tie in with Paper Will's new video about "Kid's Entertainment Made By Cults",we've finally gotten an update.

A) Good news: the prototype has been unveiled, and for the next three weeks, you can order one here

B) Bad News: It's still going to take a long time to ship, specifically 29 January 2026.
