The boyfriend started a fire on the stove top.
He was outside and I thought I smelled something funny from the kitchen. But I figured it was just the air fryer warming up.
Turns out he'd stupidly pressed the fryer against the knob and it turned the burner on, which proceeded to burn the plastic of the air fryer and started a fire. Which was put out as we threw the burning fryer out the front door.
Fire alarm went off, and now we're just waiting for the smoke to clear.

My tax refund arrived a few months early.

The WD 2 TB XBOX expansion is currently selling for $25 less than I paid. It shouldn't, but that really grates on my nerves.

Doing dishes. The GPS route to my address is blocked by road construction, so instead of trying to figure out an alternate route, the Walmart delivery driver dropped my order in front of a random house, snapped a photo of it, and marked it as delivered. That's ridiculous when he could have simple marked it as unable to be delivered and returned it to Walmart for a refund. Oh well. I went and retrieved my order at that other address, so, counting the refund for delivering to the wrong address, I got my stuff for free. I guess I'll put off having any Walmart deliveries until the road construction is complete.

Watching baseball. Debating what to make for dinner. I had fallen behind and had a sinkful of dishes, so I committed to housework before more computers. I won't have all the parts that I need for my next step until Tuesday, so I suppose I should finish the dishes tomorrow and then look toward straightening up the couch. It has become a spot for collecting assorted junk.

Budgeting. My six-month interest-free purchases worked out to sort into monthly payments of roughly $150, simplifying the rest of my calculations.

Mounting a motherboard. Swapping a CPU. One of the pins in the CPU socket looked like it might have been bent, even though I have no recollection of doing anything that would cause that, but the CPU passed POST. It's possible that there is damage affecting function that wasn't caught in POST, but that's something only actual use of the system will uncover. Even if there is damage, it may be to a pin whose function is never exposed and so it has no effect. Worst-case scenario, it's only a $150 motherboard, so the loss wouldn't be critical. Mounting CPUs is one of my sore spots. Because of my lack of fingers, it is difficult to place and remove a CPU from the socket, so there's always a risk involved. I dropped an AMD CPU recently, mangling the CPU pins. Fortunately it was only a $10 CPU.

Adding some more parts to the system to see whether I can uncover any functional defects. Everything seems fine. I haven't tried the M.2 slots, but the primary functions seem intact.

Tidying up a bit, paying rent, and thinking about dinner. Time for some baseball.
