I forgot to set the thermostat last night for the first cold snap this season. 57°F in the house. Woke up with northerly migrating testicles. Oh well, heat's on now. Besides, tea always tastes better when you're cold.

Well, with the Ambien in hand, last night was the first night of my "new" sleep regimen. Results so far are not encouraging. I settled on sleeping from midnight until 10 am (though I've yet to decide a 9, 10, or 11 am wake time). So at 12:15 I took my sleep medicine, masturbated, and fell off to sleep. At 6:00 am I woke up and was wide awake. I lay in bed thinking about sexy men and women, and clothes that I want to wear, but sleep did not return. So at 8:30 am I rolled out of bed, made a cup of instant, and put the pot on to brew.

I wish I had my old doctor back. Last ten years it's been nothing but twats who are too afraid to prescribe the right medication, because of the "potential for abuse" and what that might do to their insurance and their ability to practice. What about my "potential for getting well" which doesn't exist when I'm prescribed inadequate medications? Fuckers.

After two years of a brutal emotional rollercoaster, last night I broke off my engagement to a woman I love desperately but whose many very serious issues I can no longer cope with. I don't think I've ever felt so conflicted and fucked up about anything.

So . . . what am I doing now? I'm sitting at work, grateful that I really don't have anything on my plate because I'm barely holding it together. I don't know if I just liberated myself from years of misery, frustration, and anxiety or if I just made the mistake of a lifetime.

I know this, though: Arguing with nitwits about old legends and imaginary beings doesn't seem very fucking important today.

I'm sorry you're having such a tough time, crossless. I suspect the wisdom or lack of it with respect to your choice will reveal itself in time. You just need to try to keep yourself occupied until it does. And, if you change your mind, it's not necessarily the case that you can't go back; difficult, perhaps, but not likely impossible.

I went to the doctor's office today for my heartburn problems. I was given Nexium. It seems to be working. If it keeps up, I'll be prescribed Prilosec. If it doesn't, I may have to have an endoscopy to find out just what the problem is. I hope it keeps working.
