Just back from the movie "Wish I was Here".

A bit more Hollywood than I usually like, but it was good.

Just come back from church! (A christening).
Man, it was excrutiating!
During the christening (catholic), the priest said "and she will die with sin".
To which point I walked out discreetly.
Later having coffee, I mentioned that again to the group and suggested that religion is just an evil practice, to which no-one disagreed.
Non of the family is religious. Most haven't even been baptised, so I was surprised that the niece wanted to baptise Lily. Anyway, no harm done I s'pose.
Just 2 hours of my life I'll never get back.
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.

Relaxing after a day hawking paintings in 90 degree weather.

Just finished watching Brandon Rios fight Diego Chavez. What a shitty fight. The ref ruined the fight with point deductions and finally disqualified Chavez. I love boxing, but shit.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Stalking Esquilax and Drich threads, cuz they're interestin. A good way to spend time waiting for the lapsed pain meds to kick in..
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's
sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god
does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Just been to the 'brocante' or flea market which has taken over the small French town where I live. Really packed out, the parking's crazy even by French standards, even some money changing hands. It was raining this morning and I thought it would be a washout, but the sun's shining and everyone's enjoying it.
