Yeah it is. I've struggled with insomnia and other sleep-related problems for many years, along with back problems and such.

I've been sleeping on a spring mattress and box spring (no frame) for the last six years, since my ex and I split up. The girlfriend and I stopped at a furniture place on the way from my place to hers, to see what they had and what kind of financing offers they had - figuring that if I found a bed and mattress set I liked and could get zero interest financing, I'd end up buying a decent mattress and bad and maybe spend 1500-2000.

Just for the lulz, I tried out the Tempur-Pedic, having no idea how much they cost, and went through a demo of the adjustable platform. OMG, what a difference. The damn thing sold itself. Took awhile to mull over the decision between a conventional mattress and adjustable foam... Zero interest financing over a 5 1/2 year term pretty much sealed the deal.

Ended up buying an entire bedroom set (which I needed), though the furniture was almost inconsequential compared to the price of the mattress.

But fuck, this was the single most expensive thing I've ever bought that didn't have either four wheels or a roof.

I only post on this thread when I'm bored and waiting for something. Today my dog is having a large lipoma removed from his rear leg and I'm waiting for the vet to call and tell me he's ready to be picked up. I can't wait until they ring so I can stop worrying about him.

Hello from Denver, folks. My 19th of October was 36 hours long!

Also, I'm reminded of why I never fly internationally like that, because that was quite simply nonsense. A man should never have to take a whore's bath in an airport bathroom sink.

Spare a thought for Luckie, whose condition's unerring sense of bad timing sent her to the hospital right on the day we were supposed to meet. She'll be coming to my hotel room later today, so at least I get to make a better impression than the sleep deprived walking corpse I was yesterday.
