As far as I'm concerned, a loss is a loss. Perhaps you are saying that because The Redskins got blown out earlier on, it allowed you more time to cope with the defeat? But, what then do you think moving forward? It seems as though a close loss to a decent team gives one more to hope for than a blow-out from a good team. The potential seems greater in a close loss at mid-season than the alternative. Maybe your mindset is that things couldn't get much worse for the Foreskins, and this gives you some sense of solidarity? Realistically, my guess is that you are trying to find alternative ways to justify the pleasure you had while watching Dallas lose. Understandable. Coincidentally, what gives me joy in this little exchange is the recent memory of what happened at the Dalls/Washington game. I mean, I enjoy it when Washington/Philly/NYG loses, but it's far more enjoyable when it comes at the hands of Dallas. Maybe one day you'll get to experience such a thing again...JUST maybe. For the time being, it looks like you're just gonna have to settle for wathcing competent teams defeat your enemy rivals. It almost sounds as if you're saying Dallas is competent? Dunno, it appears to me that there's no competence to be found in the NFC East. RE: Weekly NFL Picks Thread

As much as I hate every team in my division, it sucks that we went from being the division to beat to the doormat of the entire league. No not at all, even losses outside division rivals, I hate close games when rooting for my team. I like them when I am not watching the Redskins play. But I hate close games when they do, win or lose because I don't like feeling like I need an EMT crew win or lose. I HATE heart attack games when the Skins play. I want to win big or lose big. I was referring to Detroit. However...no. I won't. Each year I tell myself to expect nothing. With that, I will not make arguments in support of any level of competence. Nice try. You most got me doing it again! You know what, yes it is, and? There is not one human, religion, political party OR sports fan, that does not get toilet paper stuck on their shoe. I'd rather be 0-16 than root for Dallas. Should a team actually make the playoffs with worse than a .500 record (I'm looking at you, NFC East), will we hear renewed cries to ban sub-.500 teams from the playoffs again? What if it's "America's Team"? Why, that sounds downright un-American! I jest, of course. Of late, we've been all too accustomed to the pit of mediocrity being found in the NFC West. I'm so glad it's you guys this year. (October 29, 2013 at 3:05 pm)Brian37 Wrote:(October 29, 2013 at 2:11 pm)Cthulhu Dreaming Wrote: I get that, but seriously, man, your shoe is untied. Sure as shit won't be the Broncos bein left out of the playoffs, huh Chtulhu?
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite. Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment. Quote:Some people deserve hell. I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong. |
