The most perfect person you can think of is the one that is there to offer help, support and advice, hold off on the judgement and disappears when you need to figure shit out for yourself.

The most evil is actually harder:

To be really evil the best thing to do is to make yourself appear good, then you can get away with anything. Convince people that, when questioned about your evil doings you are merely mysterious. Its probably a good idea to get others to feel they are in your debt, merely though their existence if you can get away with it. Make a big song and dance about the sacrifice you have made for them if you can - ideally to save them from something (invent that something if you can).

Never communicate clearly - that's a must. Always make sure there is plenty of room for interpretation - if possible get people to fall into different groups that are massively similar and hate each other because of it. Identify harmless sub-groups and vilify them as often as possible. Invent some obscene punishments for minor infractions to ludicrous rules. Encourage hypocrisy at all times. Make rules that appear to conflict and persuade one group to interpret them one way and another group another.

Every so often you should probably do something inexplicably good, just to keep people guessing. As distasteful as this is to you just make sure it only ever affects one or two beneficiaries- never do anything globally. If you have to do something good for a large number of people make sure it is entirely transitory - maybe a meal for a large gathering or something.

The good thing is that once you have done a few of those you will never have to do them again - you'll be able to live off them forever.

Once you are at that point you can wing the rest. Just continue not doing anything good and people will claim you have done on your behalf. The Placebo affect will always carry the day and then you just have to focus on keeping them scared of you - whilst demanding that they love you.

At least that is how it works according to your theology. In reality since no one can provide any verifiable evidence for god( Cue appeal to personal revelation) there is no reason to think that sin is nothing more then a crime made up to manipulate you, because I as a bible can declare any thing I want a sin.

Sin. What a joke. What is sin?

As far as I can figure out it's simply not obeying god's rules about something.

Us. Not him. God doesn't have to follow god's rules. God can do something without it being a sin that humans can't do without it being a sin.

So if we kill, that's a sin. God can kill all he wants.

Now not killing people is a good idea. I can get behind labeling that bad. But what about all the other sins? Taking god's name in vain? Lusting in your heart? Being envious?

Envy is just a human emotion. It's neither good nor bad. Hurting someone to get what they have is a bad reaction to being envious. However, using envy as motivation to focus your thoughts and actions to obtaining the same sort of life is commendable.

God is referred to in Scripture as jealous, and jealousy is referred to in Scripture as sin.

Ignoring the Sabbath is a sin?

This never seemed that logical to me back when I did believe. It doesn't seem that logical to me now.

I suppose it all works in a culty, guilt inducing, self-esteem destroying means of controlling someone. Sinful little peons. Get on your knees and beg sky daddy for forgiveness.

manipulate you into what exactly? You do know that redemption is complete freedom from the law do you not?
