Well, it was actually the last pope, the article is almost a year late. I'm sure Francis would want to talk to atheists since might just be one himself (according to some people).

In my experience, to a theist of any flavour the word 'dialogue' all too often means 'monologue with an audience'.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
