A sin - for religious purposes is defined as an offense against a god

That creates two problems for the xtian religion.

1 - THEY have ONE creator god - that created everything - including evil and hell - no other being had the power of creation - and it is said it considers everything it created to be "good" - so the god cannot take offense at doing good - so there is NO sin.

2 - In fact - the god of the xtian religion - as defined by all the various conflicting claim of the bible - cannot actually exist and fulfill ALL of the claims. So the god is a fiction - and therefore sin - in the religious sense is also fiction

Unforgivable sin is different depending on what sect you are a member of. I was raised Southern Baptist. I was taught growing up that the Unforgivable Sin was not accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior. So as long as you are still alive you still have a chance at preventing that sin from occurring.

I've been led to believe that the Unforgivable Sin for Catholics is suicide. Since you can't get that sin removed. But that is what I learned from the outside of that sect.

However, if a dozen Christians come on here you will probably have a dozen different explanations for what that Unforgivable Sin is. I've found out debating theists online that even other Southern Baptists can't seem to agree with most of what I was raised to believe in a Southern Baptist church.

I am a former Christian that still gets scared about this one sin. Of all the other religons I dont care or know about I'm not worried. But since Christianity is in the culture I am in (Western) obviously I will add more weight to it.

Anyway. For other de-converts and people searching for answers.

Can you answer:

Have you ever committed the Unforgivable Sin? Are you worried about eternal damnation? If you think you have what is it you said!

When you've been indoctrinated into a religion from birth and eventually come to the conclusion that it isn't true it messes with your head.

Something that you were formerly 100 percent certain was true you now realize is 100% false.

This makes you SERIOUSLY lose the arrogance of thinking there is no possible way that you can be wrong about what you believe now.

To commit an Unforgivable Sin is, in the minds of some former theists, the point of no return.

They seriously doubt everything they think might be true and might be false and get nervous about going all in when they have already learned how wrong they can be.

Logically nothing. For those with a damaged psyche from the mindfuck that is religion your own self-doubts can really fuck with you. I've met formerly religious atheists that still got nervous about the idea of hell.
