so thank u for confirming the fact that ur god is powerless to make us conceive the trinity exactly like u do ,,,,,

looks like he made a fault and and didt know that would happen ....

hahahahahahahahahahahaha

Who requires that God has to explain to us the Trinity, I have a vague understanding of the Trinity. Why should God give you or me the ability to understand how the Trinity works. You act as if the God who created you owes you something other than what you have already received.

why then is it that kristians Always claim to understand it and that it is just US ATHEISTS that dont??

thanks for confirming kristians r liars.

GOOD JOB !!

I did not confirm Christians are liars, you on the other hand are being dishonest by assuming so. There are some who believe they have it figured out, maybe God's made them privy to this, I kinda' doubt it though, I believe it goes far beyond human understanding. You need to learn to spell Christian, it would give more merit to your maturity.

Thor doesn't owe you an explanation of how his Mighty Hammer works, either. But if I want you to believe that either Thor or the Hammer are real things, I'm going to have to be able demonstrate that I haven't just pulled everything I said out of my ass.

I believe that's the only place your knowledge comes from.

A god that would have us aspire to understand nothing other than how to sing his praises is abhorrent. Also a sign of megalomania. Congrats on your willingness to ego stroke your imaginary friend for a cookie.

It seems you have trouble with the easiest things in scripture, what makes you believe you could understand the Trinity even with God explaining it to you, hey if He did that would make you a believer wouldn't it? Be hard to deny God after He gave you that kind of understanding.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Where the fuck are people with the brains to engage in actual philosophical discussion? Every day I come here, and this is the only thread, and it's retarded stuff like this. Is it an American holiday or something?

Why is it so important to you? I've explained it enough here to know you're looking for something.

Personal thoughts on the trinity;

God likes to roleplay.

As for my real answer the whole trinity business is just more mystical magic man bullshit used to give this god character depth.

I have an interest in actual philosophy, and I hope one day to find some. But since you think I should leave, I now have reason to stay, and possibly to tear you a new one. Thanks for the inspiration.

But I don't want to address the philosophy of your obvious Sky Daddy fiction. I'd like to address the philosophy of mind. How is it that a person capable of constructing a sentence still isn't sensible enough to read obvious bullshit and see it for what it is?

The Trinity is a false alternative. It distracts from the obvious "Why do you believe in fairy tales?" and instead asks, "What do YOU think is the true nature of God? How do YOU explain his eternal love and the blessings he constantly bestows on us? How do you jerkity jerk derp derp?"

I think it's this: I think it's a respect for authority above common sense. The ghost of your pastor, or your dear departed Grammy, are part of your identity, and to direspect them is to undermine who you are. Too much of your personal sense of self is connected to the fairy tales, so that if you were to abandon them, you'd be left with an identity crisis. Instead of waiting until you die and rot to become nothing, you might find yourself there right now: standing in the rubble of a shattered world where Santa Claus doesn't exist.

Why is it that people end up like this? Here's my theory: people don't have the heart to tell the truth to children, and children believe everything, and carry those early beliefs into adulthood unless they're finally disillusioned by a confession of the truth. But the priests never confessed that they were making it all up, and so we've had 1000 generations of childlike adults rushing to bed before midnight to await the blessings of gifts that can only come from other human beings, or their own ingenuity, anyway.

And for the record, I wasn't even complaining about the Trinity discussion. I was talking about how over several days Tweedledum and Tweedledummer have been fussing about what KIND of Santa believer they are or should be. What the hell is philosophical about that?

indeed, i m looking for something ..isnt it so that all the different denomonations of kristianity CLAIM to know the right interpretation of the bible?
thats why there are almost 38,0000 different groups within kristianity.

u wrote`` Why should God give you or me the ability to understand how the Trinity works.``

therefore he supposedly wrote the bible , for people to understand it ..

and specifically baptists claim to have the right understanding ...like , claiming they have a personal relationship with jezus..

now why u told us u do not have an understanding of the trinity becouse having a special relationship with jezus (the holy spirit) is relying on the interpretation of the trinity by baptists....
