An Explanation of the Trinity?
#61
RE: An Explanation of the Trinity?
It's one of those things that isn't meant to be explainable because it's beyond the human ability to comprehend it. The idea is you have one God who represents a community of love within himself the result being a God of love as love is relational and his creatures share in that community of the Trinity.
Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant.

Just because gibberish is incomprehensible doesn't mean it can't be comprehended as gibberish. Savvy?

Or it can be comprehended as gibberish because it's incomprehensible to begin with.
Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant.

Egg-actly. Either way you slice it, the trinity is hocum. Also, vast swaths of the bible and the subsequent interpretations swallowed by the hopelessly gullible.

It's one of those things that isn't meant to be explainable..wasnt the bible sent to explain it ? and, if it isnt meant to be explainable, why do all the different denominations of kristianity claim to have the right interpretation of the bible ??

one God who represents a community of love within himself ...so u r worshipping a 3 headed god , like hindus do ??

being a God of love ?? u probably skipped the parts that did suit u .....

and his creatures share in that community of the Trinity....where??

its only ur god and its alter egos.....no room for u there..

Beyond humanity - which is now wrestling with Quantum Physics, to understand......right.......

A more likely explanation? It was written by morons who never thought it through properly as they made it up.

Looking for meaning in modern Christian doctrine is like looking for simple geometrical shapes in a Jackson Pollock painting. If you stare at it long enough with an open mind, something might reveal itself to you. But that's more a testament to your imagination than to the geometric qualities of the painting.

What was that I said earlier in this thread? Oh yeah:

And I'm not talking about "I don't know" answers, I mean all the woo in religion and pseudoscience that they come up with to avoid having to explain their woo.

"Why does an all-loving god allow suffering? God's mind is too complex for humans to understand." Translation: "It's bullshit."

I firmly believe that "It's beyond the human ability to comprehend it" means, "Nobody can comprehend it because it's total bullshit and I'm too lazy to think up a good bullshit explanation."
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

The "too complex for human minds" answer is simply bullshit. It's the go-to rebuttal for anything a theist cannot extrapolate upon, it's lazy.

I think of the trinity as being different body parts but of the same body.
