I'm a little bit weirded out by it... and I'm wondering what the hell possessed the kid to A: bring cocaine to school... B: try to sell it to me... and C: wether I should get him arrested for his sheer stupidity or not.

I think I just lost a bit more faith in humanity... Undecided

Who knows what that kid was thinking. If you feel weirded out by it, it would be best to walk away from the situation. But from my experience with people who do drugs they are more relaxed individuals, especially pot heads.

From what I have heard, anything that you put in your body, weather you snort it smoke it or any other way you can have it its bad for you. But if you don't take it in excess you should be fine.

Surprisingly, I've only been offered illicit substances a handful of times, but people try to buy from me all the fucking time.

Drug crime is a direct result of prohibition - you need only look at the history of alcohol to see that it doesn't work.

As of late I have not had pot, because I have to get a job. I am not quiet sure if I would have to take a drug test, but it would be better to be safe than sorry. Smile

Quote:Alcohol is just as bad, if not worse, than many of the most popular recreational drugs (far more harmful that LSD, Psilocybin, Ecstasy), yet society has this retarded idea that it's somehow safer if it has a barcode on it - i'm betting you'd quite happily have a drink right?
Hell no... I despise the smell of the stuff, and the effects of drinking it. I'm actually rather disgusted by drugs of all sorts (esp. alcohol and the double standard most people hold between that and other mind altering substances).

This druggie really was stupid and insane... but I in no way meant to suggest that all drug users were either insane or stupid. The thing I can't fathom... is why would anyone want it?

Because it's fun, and social, and it feels good. Opens you up to new experiences, new people and a whole new frame of mind.

I just politely said, "No thank you." (after he finished his rambling) and continued to fill in the multiple choice bubbles on my AK Studies which I should be done with by the end of today or the start of tomorrow Smile

He rambled on about how everything seemed so fast, showed my how his hands were shaking, and showed me a picture on his cell-phone camera of his parent's cocaine stash (It was bigger than the kid's hand...). Then he showed me a clear plastic bag with about a radish amount of cocaine in it. I... don't understand... why he did this. I think that he was both insane AND stupid beyond all belief. He also is probably suffering psychologically in several ways, and I am suspecting his parents are a primary root of this.

Video games and sex are fun and social... and I feel good during and after both of them. Smile I'm fine with just those, to be honest. Chatting is also fun and very social... and to me feels very good. All of my list opens me up to the same things (with the exclusion of that I wouldn't have sex to meet new people... that's just stupid...). Smile It's just my preference. I understand that people enjoy partying and drugs and alcohol... but they just aren't my thing... and I can't understand their liking of it because of my intense disliking of it Undecided But at least I understand that people like it Smile

You're in a woefully inadequate position to decide you don't like it when you haven't tried anything - you don't dislike the drug, you dislike your preconceived idea of drugs.

RE: Pot smoker?
And I suppose that I need to step in front of a moving vehicle... to understand what it is like to be run over by a truck? Or perhaps I need to play the video game to understand what it is like to play the game?

Not at all. I read a very interesting article recently: (My internet is being frustratingly slow... You can find it http://discover.coverleaf.com/discoverma...00910?pg=7 probably. It is called 'The Empathy Instinct', and it is written by primatologist named Frans de Wall) I have the article right in front of me (page 54 in this October's Discover magazine)... and I'll make sure I get a better link later this weekend if this one proves to be a dud or if you don't want to click more than one button. Either way, it is definitely a worthwhile read about empathy and its origins.

Anyway... I don't even like the sugar high one gets from soda... why would I want a high like one would get from 'drugs'?

That could be, I have heard if the parents do drugs, most likely the kids would do drugs to.

Well that is your preference, and that is what you choose to do. I know some people that I hang out with that don't do drugs or drink alcohol.

Also it is better not to do drugs or drink to much alcohol, not only does it have a permanent effect on your memory, but it also takes a toll on your body as well.

Many of them do... although I expect marijuana to be especially heavily defended against that point. Wink
