I was told
Meter matters
But it means nothing
If the message is lost

Caviar 
Tastes great to some
I don't get it
Wouldn't put it on my tongue

That movie we went to
Just last night
I said I liked  it
You said you did not

We ate at this restaurant
Had the same plate
I said it was horrible
You said it was great

I've been told
What to do
And how to do
And all for who

But since this is
The only life I get
I'll write like I please
With no regrets

I don't understand this.  Are you accusing me of not looking up references?  If so, that's a mistake on your part - I look up references all the time.  I didn't look up the ones in these two poems because I don't care enough to do so.
