Discriminatory language in the terms of a christian forum.

Not to break into your convo:

Quote: Bzzt, sorry - there was no strawman, since I did not parody your POV and then attack the parody. Nice try, though.

A strawman can also be when an arguer attacks the supporting points of an argument while never defeating the main premise.

Actually, John's got a good point. Though I don't condone discrimination, it's their forums and their rules. I don't like when newbs come over on our site, telling us how AF should be run, and I can bet that the staff on CF.com don't either. Whether having such a part of the forums is silly or not can be discussed, but it is well within the site owners right to do what they want with their forums.

Of course you can post your opinions.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

If it was that simple, how come we haven't decided not to "hang out" with you?

I think the fact that theists are allowed to rave on about how they don't have freedom of speech on here without having their thread's closed and deleted is testament to why they're wrong.

Which is, I think, the most interesting part of this thread: the ones who place themselves as in possession of the greatest truth in the universe, that's evident to all and so perfect and wonderful and available to everyone feel the most need to shut out dissent and control every aspect of the conversation... while at the same time keeping their freedom of speech so sacrosanct that any retaliation in a space that they can't control has to be characterized as oppression. You rarely see atheists expressing anything more than eye rolling dull surprise at being censored on a christian website, and yet here's Lion jumping up and down over the nothing that's happened to him here.

You know how liars tend to get really defensive where their lie is concerned? Thinking

The opposite also applies: You seem to be overly concerned with what people you don't know consent to do in the privacy of their own bedroom, but don't seem to give a shit about starving people. And you're coming off as a douche just looking for an excuse to either pry into people's personal lives or else not care about things which actually harm people.

No. Read 1 & 2 Corinthians, among others.

Just like elsewhere how they freely whine on the internet about being the most persecuted group in the country without being censored or jailed.

It is funny, though, when Christians come here and then complain about not being treated fairly. It is Atheist Forums, after all. I don't whine about not being treated fairly on Christian online forums because I don't participate on them. I've read about how unfair they are to non-believers, and I don't want to hang out somewhere I'm not wanted.

Theists don't like nothing these days - not since it appears that's where the universe came from anyway.

Because then you'd just have a liberal atheist circle-jerk which would get boring fast. But if you had a forum for atheists only it wouldn't bother me. The first site I posted at had that, and eventually made one for theists, too. What's so wrong with sometimes wanting conversation with people of like mind? Isn't that really, really normal?
