What's that got to do with me?

One great example is how many Christians have decided to interpret Genesis in such a way that it doesn't conflict with certain truths about the universe revealed to us through biological, geological and cosmological sciences.
You can't prove that the universe was created, and until you do, you don't actually have a correct belief about it.

This assumes that there is a reason why everything exists. You can't tell me why God exists, can you?

The whole problem is that you insist on having answers, whether or not there are any to have. I can't do anything about that.

You aren't; you're being treated with hostility in a conversation about religion, but the reason that it's happening has nothing to do with the fact that you're a catholic. It's because you're being smug.
Neither are you.
It's really not about me. Its about what I stand for. And my goal is to educate atheists about the "real people" of God. Atheists say they know "all" about the people of God. But, that is a false statement.

Well... the ax swings both ways on the evidence front. If you think about it, "we" only know what we are told. It's a jungle of disinformation out there. And we are a nation of skeptics. that we can agree on.. I think!

umm.... neither do you have proof that it wasn't created! But, there was a beginning because time exists. Right?

What it's about, is your habit of playing the persecution card the moment anyone disagrees with you, in order to supposedly quash those disagreements. But there's no persecution going on, here.

Well, the beautiful thing about science and evidence is that it's demonstrable and repeatable; you don't have to rely on what other people say, you can find out by doing it yourself. And even if you did just rely on what you're told, the scientific community is its own guard; a collection of individuals whose careers are made and sustained on keeping a watchful eye for issues in methodology and demonstrating good, applicable science.

A lot of them got hung for it. I'd settle for that.
