The Legend of Zelda

RE: The Legend of Zelda
I didn't play much of Majora's Mask myself. It was hard to get into with the beginning where you're stuck in the Deku mask.

Yeah, it does take an absolute age to get into. In fact, I don't think I ever finished it; unlike Ocarina, which I sat up for days to complete.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I first heard about Zelda through my brother who had a NES and the first and second Zelda game. He wouldn't let me play either because the cartridges were both gold and he thought I'd ruin them. I spent many years fantasizing about what I couldn't have until along came the N64 (my first game console) and Ocarina of Time. That was my introduction to the franchise and man did I love it.

And thanks to re-releases, collector's editions and going over to my cousins who has every Nintendo system known to man, I have played Zelda 1, 2, A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, OoT, Majora's Mask, Oracles of Ages & Seasons, Wind Waker, Four Swords and Twilight Princess. Only ones among them I don't own is Link's Awakening. The rest I haven't played. How about you guys?

I got in to it when my sister was doing a run for drugs in the city next to us. While she was scoring I was playing with her dealers kids and they had LoZ: OoT. It was amazing and opened up my world. It took forever to convince my mom the game wasn't full of evil spirits and buy it for me. But I finally got it. I've only grown to love the games even more. Windwaker, despite having all that ocean, was particularly enjoyable. I found the humorous storyline cute, and serious when it needed to be.

TP made me cry. Hardcore. No spoilers. But it did.

I've always been a fan. It's one of my dark secrets that my wife has to deal with. As a boy, I used to dress up like Link from A Link to the Past and go slay invisible Moblins in the woods. Nowadays I mainly Cosplay as Spock.

I purchase each new release, and I was pretty satisfied with the newest one on 3DS, A Link Between Worlds which, if you're an old Link to the Past fan like myself, will squeal with delight to know that it's a sequel. I'm looking forward to the (currently named) Hyrulean Warriors game, as it will take a break from puzzles and dungeons and focus more on defeating hordes of Moblins and other monsters with a decidedly adult-looking Link.

RE: The Legend of Zelda
I have played almost every Zelda game except the new ones like Skyward Sword. Majora's Mask was the one I had the most fun in since I enjoyed collecting the masks, favorite mask in particular was the Bunny Hood because it makes you run and not walk so slow. Ocarina of Time was pretty great too, it was my first Zelda game and was quite the challenge. I struggled a lot when I played the game and there was no internet or guides in my house to help me but I still managed to beat the game. Wind Waker was also fun, I have played both the original and HD remastered version on Wii U. Twilight Princess was good, I enjoyed playing as Wolf Link and the whole game overall.

Still unsure if I should get Skyward Sword though.

Skyward Sword is good, but it's true that the gameplay can feel a little awkward. The sword techniques take a bit of practice to get used to them. I have to admit that I played through that game on Hero mode and figuring out how to get through the boss rush while taking immense amounts of damage took some doing. Should you play the game? I think you should. Wink

In that case I should consider renting it when I get the chance.

A Link to the Past is still one of my favourite games. The beginning is epic.

If you liked LttP, (or any of the classics, for that matter) you should consider trying a Link Between Worlds on the 2DS/3DS.
