In response to the agnostic: God is possible, but the probability is so low that it's negligible. a 1/∞ probability.
¨I contend that we are both atheists, I just believe in one fewer god than you. When you understand why you dismiss all other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.¨

Oh, I think you're confused a bit. Agnosticism denotes "Knowledge". If one proclaims to be agnostic with regards to gods, then they've said they have no knowledge of a God.

That being said, Atheism necessarily follows. They're two sides of the same coin (depending on whether or not you ask a Theist).

An Atheist or an A-theist is using the term to denote that they are NOT a Theist.

A Theist believe is at least one God. Atheism denotes a position toward belief.

Belief is a subset of knowledge. You with me?

If one is intellectually honest with regards to God, they will admit that they don't know anything about any Gods, if they don't know of any Gods, how can they possibly believe in one?

Hence they are an Agnostic Atheist. They don't know, therefore they couldn't possibly believe.

Those who claim to know, are pretending to know things they do not. Ask Socrates, he'll tell ya!

If God isn't real, then how do you explain the fact that the Kansas City Chiefs are still undefeated?

Sometimes I can't help but think that theists mistake oxymorons for oxycontin......

You can find Jesus spitting the same question begging truths throughout The New " Testament" to his desiples.

How do we know oh Lord?

Jesus: Because I speak the truth! Duh.

Atheists, if there's no God, what caused the Big Bang...huh...huh????

Agnostics, all "don't know for sure"s aren't born equal. Since this "don't know for sure" is as close to sure as "walking off tall buildings will kill you", why don't you take an atheistic point of view.

Btw, it is surely lord noodle's fart that caused the big bang.
You are very persuasive. I like it. Big Grin

The definition is ...a person who doesn't have a 'definitive' belief if God exists or not. That would be where I sit at, right now. I also have no feelings one way or the other towards the Chiefs, so I'm agnostic there, too. :p Big Grin (I understood your points though...do you see where I'm coming from?)

I don't think definitive is at all necessary. I don't have any belief...at all. But, I'm open to new information that may cause me to adopt one, I just haven't heard any as of yet.

This video gets posted a lot. I think it may be useful here as well. Enjoy!
